Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan I am pleased to welcome the participants and guests of the 14th Kazakhstan International Tourism Exhibition “Astana Leisure 2017”!
It is a remarkable event in the tourism sector that annually brings together more than 100 leading companies and national agencies from different tourist destinations, gained popularity among professionals of the tourism industry in different countries.
It should be noted that special attention is drawn to the promotion of domestic and inbound tourism. Many companies come to the exhibition “to discover Kazakhstan” that expands the horizons for the development of tourism in the regions.
It is important to highlight that this year the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the New Concept for the development of the tourism industry until 2023, which envisages the development of promising types of tourism for Kazakhstan: cultural-cognitive, ethnographic, event, trophy hunting, sports, ecological, camping and autotourism.
The six clusters, reflecting the geographical diversity and ethnocultural identity of Kazakhstan’s tourist offer are also highlighted. They are “Astana - the heart of Eurasia”, “Almaty - free cultural zone of Kazakhstan”, “Pearl of Altai”, “Revival of the Great Silk Road”, “Caspian Gates” and “Unity of Nature and Nomadic Culture”.
In addition, the Map of sacred sites of Kazakhstan, meant to become the centers of pilgrimage and high tourist interest, was created.
Every year the exhibition attracts more and more international companies, National Tourism Administrations, Embassies and Associations, professional visitors and local executive authorities of Kazakhstan, where a platform to exchange experience with international partners is created.
I am confident that the international exhibition “Astana Leisure 2017” will be held at a traditionally high level and will promote close interaction between tourism business participants and all interested parties.
I wish all participants and guests of the exhibition “Astana Leisure – 2017” successful work, interesting, mutually beneficial contacts and further prosperity!

Many tourists have a special interest in the capital city of Kazakhstan, since for an impressively short period of time, it has transformed into the modern metropolis which outstanding architecture is stunning even for experienced travelers.
Today, Astana is the central venue of numerous large events both of the republican and international significance, and therefore it's not surprising that here, in the capital city, many new programs and concepts aimed at the development of the different touristic segments are brought to light and discussed.
I would like to point out that tourism has been designated as one of the most important sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan, and holding such international-level events as AstanaLeisure Exhibition undoubtedly contributes to the development and promotion of our country, and also provides everyone with the opportunity to obtain any required information about travelling and tourism in nearly any part of the world without even leaving home.
Every year, the Exhibition of AstanaLeisure shows the huge touristic potential of our country, demonstrating travelling opportunities of every region of Kazakhstan and discovering new prospects of the domestic and inbound tourism development, as well as displays the top travel destinations for the autumn-winter touristic season.
I have no doubt that this show will help us in learning new things and studying best practices in the touristic sector sustainable development, giving a powerful impact on the further promotion of the touristic attractiveness of Kazakhstan, as well as increase the number of the specialists in this sector.

On behalf of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a specialized agency of the United Nations I am pleased to welcome you to the 14th Kazakhstan International Tourism Exhibition “Astana Leisure 2017”.
Astana Leisure Exhibition is an important event in the sphere of tourism in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Held annually in the capital of our country – Astana, it is one of the largest event in the sphere of inbound and outbound tourism in the region.
Kazakhstan has always been and remains a valuable partner of UNWTO and the tourist exhibition in Astana – a business platform for cooperation between specialists of the international and local markets.
The development of the tourism sector in Kazakhstan is a major focus of interest for the government, as it plays a significant role in the economy of the country and the entire Central Asian region. Therefore, the exhibitions of this sector are very dynamic and develop rapidly.
The exhibition “Astana Leisure” is efficiently used as a platform for trade and marketing and is one of the epicenters of Kazakhstan’s tourism sector, where contacts are established, tourism products are sold and business activities are carried out.
I am confident that Astana Leisure 2017 will be held at a high level and will contribute to the development of the country’s tourism, particularly in this important year as we celebrate 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development as designated by the United Nations General Assembly.

The tourism industry of our countries is becoming one of the leading and dynamically developing industries, which contributes to the improvement of the socio-economic situation of our countries, the improvement of transport, cultural, entertainment and recreational opportunities. It provides an opportunity to develop local infrastructure and create thousands of new jobs.
The Russian Federation is an amazing country, combining the most beautiful natural landscapes, distinct objects of national and world cultural and historical heritage, unique monuments of history and architecture, the diversity of people and culture, this is all a huge resource that we are obliged to preserve, develop and demonstrate to the guests of our immense Homeland. Tourism in all its diversity is an extremely effective tool to achieve this goal.
The exhibition “Astana Leisure 2017” is an information platform that allows you to discover for a short time new cognitive and health-improving destinations and routes around the world, including Russia, which makes it possible to reveal the entire tourist potential of our country for exhibitors and visitors.
Holding such exhibitions helps acquire new knowledge and opportunities to promote the image of our country in the world, and also to learn and adopt best practices in the development of tourism, which contributes to the expansion of cooperation and international contacts between our countries.

On behalf of the organizers of this event, I am honored to welcome you at the 14th Kazakhstan International Tourism Exhibition in the city of Astana - Astana Leisure 2017! Traditionally, this event has been arranged to coincide with the professional holiday which is celebrated not only in our country, but all around the globe - the World Tourism Day, and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my congratulations on this occasion as well!
Within 14 years of its existence, Astana Leisure Exhibition has achieved the status of the benchmarking event for a big family of the touristic sector, being the integrated communications platform to openly discuss and demonstrate touristic opportunities of various participating countries, find solutions of actual challenges and learn about new concepts aimed to develop the touristic industry of Kazakhstan.
Every year, the Exhibition welcomes thousands of professionals who discover new touristic destinations, meet business partners and extensively share their experience.
The Exhibition of Astana Leisure 2017 has a very intensive business agenda, offering numerous events, which attracts many specialists engaged in the touristic industry from all over Kazakhstan and other countries. The program includes various conferences, meetings, seminars, lotteries and presentations from both the governmental agencies, which provide support to the event, and exhibiting companies.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of the city of Astana, World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Kazakhstan Tourism Association (KTA) and Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan for their official support of the event, as well as to all involved regional departments and official missions of other countries for their contribution into this year organization of Astana Leisure.
